Nooruddeen Jabbar
Ph.D Student
I am Nooruddeen Jabbar, born and brought up in Kerala. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Botany from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. Along the way, I qualified CSIR-JRF, DBT-JRF, GATE, and ASRB-NET.
In 2022, after completing my Master's degree, I joined IISER Tirupati as a Ph.D. scholar under the supervision of Dr. Eswar Ramireddy. In 2023, I was honoured to receive the prestigious Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF).
My Ph.D. research focuses on ppGpp signalling in plants, with a particular emphasis on the rice–Magnaporthe pathosystem. I am especially interested in exploring how molecular signalling pathways influence plant responses during stress and pathogen interactions.
What I enjoy most about research is the excitement of discovery. I find every result interesting—whether it supports my hypothesis, gives a negative result, or completely disproves what I initially expected. For me, research is not simply about proving a hypothesis; sometimes the most unexpected results lead to the most interesting questions.
Outside the lab, I enjoy travelling, motorcycling, and watching movies.
