Devarshi Vishwakarma

Ph.D Student

I come from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. I completed my undergraduate studies in Microbiology and Botany at Ewing Christian College, University of Allahabad, followed by a postgraduate degree in Agricultural Microbiology at Aligarh Muslim University. During my postgraduate studies, I developed a strong interest in microbiology, plant–microbe interactions, and the mechanisms underlying host defense. This interest gradually led me toward understanding how plants perceive and respond to biotic stresses, which continues to shape my current research.

I began my research journey in this lab in August 2026, where I am pursuing my PhD with a focus on decoding phytohormone crosstalk and understanding vascular immunity against soil-borne pathogens. Building on my background in Agricultural Microbiology, my current research aims to understand how hormonal signaling networks regulate plant immune responses, particularly within vascular tissues, and to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying plant responses to biotic stress.

Beyond academics and research, I enjoy watching cricket and exploring new places.
