Ankita Mohapatra

I joined the Integrated Ph.D. program at IISER Tirupati in 2018. As a joint student, I am part of both the Plant Functional Genomics Lab led by Dr. Eswar RamiReddy and the Genomics & Systems Biology group led by Dr. Sreenivas Chavali.

Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) honours (H) in Botany from Udayanath (Auto.) College of Science and Technology, Utkal University.

My current focus is on understanding the molecular mechanism underlying biotic stress, specifically fungal infection, in plants. I'm particularly interested in studying the role of intrinsically disordered proteins in this process at a system level.

During my free time, I enjoy engaging in calligraphy, craft work, and watching multilingual movies and sports.
